Cookies for the Road

Seems like every summer I start with great plans for a new type of garden or a different planting of shrubs, but then reality rears its ugly head and it dawns on me that summer is nonstop cooking, cleaning, answering the phone, etc. The fact is, we have a hard time keeping up with the gardens we already have! The more the gardens produce, the more work gets added to the already busy days. Lots of berries, tomatoes, and peppers mean lots of jam and sauces to be put up in jars and sold in the gift shop.

It's Spring! A Cheese & Chive Eggs Recipe

It's SPRING!!!! Until it snows again. We always get snow in Potter County either on or near the first day of trout season (mid-April). That's just a given-up here. But, I have been out checking the herb garden and found shoots of green popping up in several places. Chives are the first things we can start using in the spring. Stargazing at Cherry Springs State Park

Sometimes, in the rush of running a B&B, we get caught up in all we have to do and let the things that should capture our attention go unnoticed. Here at Frosty Hollow, we marvel at how many people come to our area to view the stars, the meteor showers, and the Milky Way. From all over the East Coast and from many countries, we welcome guests who have never seen more than just a few stars their whole lives. Yet, we glance out a window from time to time and mention how great the viewing will be at Cherry Springs State Park that night and go on about whatever must be done next.
